Welcome to Kirby no Nihongo - a Japanese language resource blog that helps you learn and understand Japanese, primarily through the use of Absolute Pimsleur's Japanese audio lessons and focused vocabulary and grammar posts.
My name is Kirk Warren and I've been learning Japanese for the past several years, off and on. I've always been fascinated by Japanese history, culture and have always had a strong urge to learn their language and some day visit Japan. Through this blog, I hope to meet and help people, just like myself, who share the same passion for Japanese and desire to learn.
Learning Japanese
Learning Japanese is a long and difficult road. I’m just looking to share the journey with people as I work my way from beginner to, hopefully, a fully fluent speaker. Well, I’m a bit beyond the beginner stage right now, but I was one at one point, so I know what it’s like to be struggling starting out.
The blog consists of weekly updates from me and the main focus is producing a weekly transcript of Absolute Pimsleur’s Japanese I for each of the thirty lessons. Once that is done, I’ll re-evaluate if it’s better to continue with the next levels of Pimsleur’s (II & III) or switch focus to kanji, grammar, vocabulary or other topics.
On top of that, I also intend on having a weekly vocabulary, grammar or kanji post to suppliment the weekly Pimsleur transcript.

Also, feel free to comment on any post or topic you find interesting. At this point in time, there is no registration required to post and all comments and discussions are welcomed. However, please refrain from spamming or flaming. I do not mind honest criticism or civil discussions and, to be honest, I encourage it.
I’m far from perfect and no where near fluent, but I’m trying my best to make sure these posts are as accurate as possible. If you see something that you think is wrong or don’t understand, feel free to leave a comment or contact me directly.
